Mark's Team, IB BD, and ODYSSEY raced out of the gates - becoming the first 3 teams to recruit at least 10 members into their respective squads, with each holding at least 100 USDT in assets.

And the top 3 names on the Spot Volume Leaderboard have already each earned US$ 6,080 in rewards.

"Shorts" may have profited as spot Crypto, Stocks sank after "blue wave"

As the Spot section of the Global Assets Showdown kicked off on Nov 5th, markets saw massive moves:

  • Bitcoin fell 5.5% to mark its biggest one-day drop in exactly 9 months (since Feb 5th, 2026)

  • Sandisk - once a star-performer across US Stocks - sank 22.3%, making it yesterday's worst-performer on the S&P 500 index.

  • Micron, Western Digital, AMD, Marvell, Bloom Energy, and Seagate each fell between 16% - 17.5% respectively - counting themselves among the 10 biggest losers on the S&P 500 on Nov 5th.

Markets went into a selling frenzy - sending shockwaves through crypto, stocks, and major indexes - following the "blue wave" after Democrats swept the US midterm elections.

Among the hardest hit? The once-high-flying AI stocks listed above. Many AI-linked stocks came crashing back down to earth this week amid fears that a Democrat-led Congress could slow the AI data centre boom.

Still, traders who went "short" (expected prices to fall and hit the "sell button" first) may have reaped massive profits from the steep price declines on Nov 5th.

ICYMI: We'd flagged the US midterms as a major market risk as early as Monday, November 2.
